On the last Friday of the month all members are invited to a social evening at the Brecknock hotel on King William St in the city (cnr Gilbert Street). This is an informal gathering and an opportunity for new and old members alike to meet and chat and generally have a good time. So come along next time. The time is from 7:30pm onwards. Without wanting to give any free advertising, the Brecknock has hosted our "technical" meetings for a very long time. I think we must have gotten through 100 or so kegs of Guiness since we started going there. It can be tricky finding us if you have never been before (and so don't recognise any of us). We're normally to be found in the beer garden around one or two (depending on how many turn up) tables. Look for the ageing geeks drinking guiness. Some of the bar staff will also be able to point us out. |
